Volunteers Needed for Chollas Parkway Community Clean-Up
|
As part of continuing efforts to beautify and clean up San Diego, volunteers are needed for a community clean-up event focused on Chollas Parkway in the City of San Diego. “Just two hours out of your Saturday morning will contribute toward the beautification of our city,” said Carl Scherbaum, District Manager of Waste Management of San Diego, which is donating trash bins and service for the event.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities can join sponsors Waste Management of San Diego, Councilmember Jim Madaffer, the Alpha Project, Teen Challenge and KGTV Channel 10/reporter Marti Emerald in cleaning up Chollas Parkway. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves – all other necessary tools, as well as refreshments, will be provided. |

“Unfortunately some people utilize our parks and open spaces as dumping grounds for their trash and litter, rather than working to preserve their beauty,” said Scherbaum. “We all need to work together – as residents, businesses and community leaders – to focus special attention on areas that need our help the most. Taking care of our environment is an important job. We are asking for your help in addressing this challenge.” |
