Waste Management of San Diego Launches New Web Site to Provide Service, Recycling Information to Local Residents
EL CAJON/SAN DIEGO, Jan. 31, 2007 - Waste Management of San Diego’s re-designed Web site, located at www.wastemanagementsd.com, was launched today, providing the company’s customers and other residents of the east county region with a resource containing information about responsible waste disposal, recycling, community events and local service offerings.
“We want our customers to have as many resources as possible for information about our services and activities in east San Diego County and the city of San Diego, whether they want to get this information over the phone, through the mail or on the Internet,” said Carl Scherbaum, District Manager. “We also wanted to create a resource for others who may not reside in a city serviced by Waste Management, but who are looking for information on environmental topics – we are providing a Web site they can utilize for information, facts and activities related to recycling, waste reduction and community involvement. This region is full of many active communities, and it is important that residents are able to have complete access to timely, targeted information through the Internet.”
The new Web site has information including:
- Service overviews for residential, commercial and roll-off waste and recycling customers. The overviews provide service details for the residential customers in each city serviced by Waste Management, and provide guidance on what to do with bulky items, household hazardous waste or universal waste and what items can be recycled through the curbside service program. There is also information about ordering temporary service or fulfilling special service needs, and links for online payment options.
- Environmental fact sheets with suggestions on how we can all reduce, reuse and recycle.
- Organizations and activities the company supports in east San Diego County and the city of San Diego, including nonprofits and community events.
- A dedicated press room with a press release archive and feature stories about company programs and employees.
- The annual holiday schedule and other service updates.
- A special kids’ section with environmental-themed games and links for children, parents and educators.
“We invite all of our customers and neighbors in San Diego County to visit our new site to find information that will be interesting and useful to them, and to check back often for regular updates,” said Scherbaum.
